Pac Man, Mii Fighters, and Palutena revealed as playable characters in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros.
Your Nintendo Mii can join the fight as one of three different classes – Brawler, Gunner or Swordfighter, each with their own combat style, special moves and abilities. The reveal showed Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata and Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime battling using their Miis in a funny trailer, which also showed of the Amiibos, a character model that can connect to a Wii U to assist players in a fight.
The Amiibos will store information on them, based on how you progress through the game, and can be used on your friend’s Wii Us with all their unique skills picked up from your interaction with them. An Amiibo wireless connector for the 3DS was also announced. While Super Smash Bros. will be the first game to use the Amiibos, Nintendo plan to release more games for them in the future.
Also announced as playable characters are Pac-Man, everyone’s favourite hungry yellow disk, and Palutena, a goddess from the Kid Icarus series.
Super Smash Bros. will be available for Wii U and 3DS at the end of the year!
