A special stream took place in Japan this afternoon promising big news for Pokémon fans; news that is now confirmed to be that of Pokken Tournament – an action/brawler staring your favourite tough-guy ‘Mons.
It’s slightly strange to see Pokémon actively beating each other to a pulp – despite that being the basis of every main game of the series. The difference being rather than having animations and sprites imply physical contact in battles, these Pokémon will actually swing for the hit.
Pokken Tournament – being developed by the creative minds being Tekken hasn’t exactly come about out of the blue. The title was teased in a fuzzy video playing on the showfloor of the Pokémon Game Show exhibition in Japan last year, with trademarks for “Pokken Fighters” and “Pokken Tournament” popping up shortly after; so it seems one of those actually stuck.
Sadly, the game in its current state is slated for a 2015 release as an arcade cabinet in Japan only. Though we’ll probably never see it reach the dying trend of overseas arcade establishments, there’s nothing to forbid the game eventually making the jump to the WiiU in the future.
Missed this footage from E3 and Gamescom? Don’t worry! It’s available on YouTube thanks to CD Projekt Red.
We got the chance to interview Witcher 3: Wild Hunt producer Stan Just at this year’s Gamescom, take a look to find out some answers to what’s to come in next year’s Witcher outing, and just what his favourite feature is so far.
At this point, there’s few people not away of that fact that Paradox Interactive wasn’t quite met with open arms to the idea of showcasing its inaccurate history simulator – Hearts of Iron IV – in Germany of all places.
Despite that fact, the company is using the Gamescom limelight to drum up interest regardless by releasing the first piece of in-engine footage for the game.
There’s even a sneaky way to worm into the game’s beta test!
The first of our Vlogs whilst preparing for Gamescom 2014. This one mostly consists of me (Dan), talking about non-game related content such as getting a hair cut.
Myself and Tom also devised a plan to put stickers on everyones suitcases, but they didn’t stick :/ DAMN FABRIC!
Good news for anyone who thought RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile killed the franchise! RollerCoaster Tycoon World, the first PC addition to the series since 2004, was announced today by Atari.
The regular aspects of the series will remain – park management, ride construction, scenery – but World will introduce multiplayer aspects and online sharing. Four players can work together to build a mega park, players can visit other people’s parks, and ride blueprints can be shared online.
The best part – Atari have said that World will be microtransaction-free, and that players won’t have to pay for anything after they buy the game.
Check out the trailer above, keep your arms and legs in the carriage at all times, and don’t stand up – RollerCoaster Tycoon World will be released on PC next year.

It has been confirmed that Rogue will not feature Unity‘s multiplayer mode.

Originally due for release in September, It has been pushed back until the start of 2015 so that Visceral can improve on both single and multi player modes, as well as add new content for both modes, based on feedback from the June beta.
The move was announced on the Battlefield blog – which you can read here for more information – where DICE VP and group GM Karl Magnus Troedsson explained that the delay was spurred mainly due to feedback from players of the E3 June beta, extra content for the single player to allow for a “deeper ‘crime revenge ‘ story experience”, and to avoid the issues that plagued the launch of battlefield 4.
Nothing has been confirmed yet about whether the autumn beta will run as originally planned.
Battlefield Hardline will be released for PC, PlayStations 3 and 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
The images, posted to concept artist Eddie Del Rio’s blog, show a soldier about to be executed near a crashed helicopter, a plane crash, and a Vietnam town overlooking a river. This darker, more psychological Call of Duty was, according to IGN, going to be the series first third person shooter. It was eventually sidelined to create Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and this year’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
What do you think? should they have finished the Vietnam Call of Duty, or were they right to abandon it? Let us know your opinion in the comments!
The 30 minute demo shows Snake infiltrating a soviet base in Afghanistan to rescue Kaz Miller, and showing us some of the cool new tricks Snake has learned since Ground Zeroes. Snake can now send people, animals and items back to Mother Base using the Fulton recovery balloons last seen in Peace Walker, use his prosthetic hand to attract guard’s attention, and smoke an e-cigar that passes the time, allowing you to choose whether to do missions in daylight or darkness.
There’s plenty of more surprises and tricks in the demo, but I won’t spoil them here – check out the demo above!

An Amiibo wireless connector for the 3DS was also announced. While Super Smash Bros. will be the first game to use the Amiibos, Nintendo plan to release more games for them in the future.
Also announced as playable characters are Pac-Man, everyone’s favourite hungry yellow disk, and Palutena, a goddess from the Kid Icarus series.

During an interview with Tom O’Connor and Pete Smith, two of the designers on Little Big planet 3, they reluctantly admitted that Steven Fry would return to voice the latest game in the series. Some were worried when the Iconic Actor/Writer/Comedian/Genius Steven Fry didn’t appear during the reveal trailer at the Sony press conference on Monday. Those worries were dashed during a segment on the Gamespot stage.

You will be able to approach new areas in any direction possible, following the story at your own pace.
They then showed a brief clip in-game of Link, now sporting a blue and yellow tunic and a hooded cloak, riding his horse, being chased by a tentacle monster. He fires two exploding arrows at the monster before jumping in the air, revealing a full look at his face, and fires a glowing arrow at the monster.

We’ve heard before that the transition from Batman to Batmobile would be smooth in Arkham Knight, the last in Rocksteady‘s Arkham games, And we finally got to see just how smooth in the trailer above. Added to that was a huge, gritty Gotham City separated into districts – we saw bits of Bristol and Kingston – got a good look at the Batmobile’s weapon mode, and met two of the games villains, Penguin and Scarecrow.
The Sony conference may have zoomed out during the crucial moments (curse you, cameraman!) but now we can see the trailer in full, interrupted glory above. Excited? Let us know in the comments!

During Microsoft’s E3 press conference a whole slew of screens and a new trailer for Forza Horizon 2 were released alongside some of the first details of what Playground Games’ sequel has in store.
Just as before, you’ll have the chance to drive through a huge open-world with more than 200 cars from all around the world.
Things will be taking place at the Horizon Festival again, but this time it seems to be set in Europe instead, allowing you to smash your way across the continent in any way you like.
You can race in co-op challenges with friends, roam the map together, or create your own Car Club of up to 1,000 members and compete against one another too.
Interestingly, Playground seem to be claiming ‘obsessive detail’ is on show in Forza Horizon 2, with random inclusions such as “functional windshield wipers, working headlights, and authentic interiors.”
Forza Horizon 2 wil llaunch on September 30 in North America and October 3 in Europe, take a look at the screens below.
During Microsoft’s E3 press conference, Ubisoft decided to buck the trend of jumping into Sony’s back pocket and revealed a first-look of its brand new Assassin’s Creed game on Xbox One.
And, instead of the usual fare of Assassin goodness, we got a glimpse at the much-rumoured four-player co-op mode on offer.
Expect to see more during Ubisoft’s E3 press conference, but for now this is shaping up to be one mightily impressive game, and not just in the looks department.
The behind the scenes video was shown as part of the EA’s press conference this evening.
