Hey man, I was trying to find a way to contact you. I’m thinking you and I have gotten “defected” models of this headset.
I’ve read reviews all over the internet on these and they are too praised for what me and you are seeing. I too, noticed the lack of sound quality in these. In fact, my older model tritton ax720s performed WAY better than these.
I noticed there is different packaging for this model. I have the same package as you and we’re having the same problem while everybody else with different packaging (same model) are hearing amazing things apparently.
Hit me up if you want to talk one on one about this. I’m sure there’s something wrong here.

It would make a lot of sense. I’ll mention you in my email to the supplier and I’ll make sure to shoot you a message if I hear any update on the matter.

I just bought the headset a few days ago and I noticed that the headset was really lacking in bass as well. I was very surprised because I had only heard great things about the sound and bass specifically on this set. If you guys figured out how to identify if you have a defective product I’d love to know, because I very well may be having the same issue here.

Did you find out if your model was defective? I have the same packaging and the sound quality is terrible!

They offered a replacement through warrenty that I have yet to actually process. After using them in my PS3 for awhile they started to grow on me. Using Final Fantasy XIII-2 as a demo the clarity and bass really picked up so I’m obviously having mixed feelings now until I’m able to test some more games
In your case I’d recommend just emailing MadCatz to use your warranty. Chances are you’ll end up with a better one from the batch.
