Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that a new Assassin’s Creed title was in the works and is set to release during the 2014 financial year.

Guillemot told investors in a conference call on Thursday 7th Feb that Ubisoft plans to release this new Assassin’s Creed game sometime in 2014, CVG reports.

While it’s expected that we’ll see the first footage during this years E3, it should come as no surprise that Ubisoft are pressing forward with the franchise after Assassin’s Creed III sold a mighty 12 million copies, and Assassin’s Creed III Liberation shifted 600,000.

What’s interesting though, Ubisoft won’t be continuing along with Connor’s exploits in America. Instead it introduces a brand new character and take place in a totally new time period.

With a release window of 2014, it’s pretty safe to say that this will be a next-generation game.
