Yesterday a rough cut video featuring motion capture studio footage and some artwork was leaked online for an unnannounced Ubisoft project known only as Osiris.

Having previously reared its head in late 2012, the trailer looked as if it was hinting towards a new Prince of Persia title, or another Assassin’s Creed – which comes as no surprise after hearing that it was developed by the same team inside Ubisoft Montréal.

However, according to a statement made to Polygon from a Ubisoft representative, Osiris has been canned.

“The content in question was from a Ubisoft project that is no longer moving forward,” said the representative.

What’s more interesting is that yesterday we also reported that Ubisoft had put the Prince of Persia franchise to bed for now, so could Osiris have been a new entry into the Persian prince’s series?
