Skyrim‘s Dragonborn DLC is now available on Xbox 360, and it was announced that the PC and PS3 will also be seeing it’s arrival.
Of course, for PS3 users this is a big deal. So far they’ve missed out on both Hearthfire and Dawnguard due to crippling incompatibility issues so does the arrival of Dragonborn mean they’ll finally get a flurry of DLC to play catchup?
Ah, well no. Not exactly.
Bethesda revealed on their blog that they are focusing solely on getting Dragonborn ready for the PS3 in 2013. In the meantime focus on Dawnguard and Hearthfire have been put on hiatus.
“We’re hard at work to make this content available early next year on PS3 and PC,” reads the blog post. “On PS3 in particular, we turned our attention to Dragonborn, as we thought it was the best content to release first, and we didn’t want folks to wait longer.
“Once it’s ready to go for everyone, we’ll continue our previous work on Hearthfire and Dawnguard for PS3. Each one takes a lot of time and attention to work well in all circumstances and all combinations of DLC.
“Once we have a better idea of release timing and pricing, we’ll let you know.”
From early reviews it seems that Dragonborn is a rather meaty expansion in comparison to Dawnguard and Hearthfire so it’s a good thing that PS3 users are getting it – even if nobody knows when.
