Sony have announced the inevitable: God of War: Ascension will be getting a Collector’s Edition and a Special Edition – as well as pre-order content.

If you pick up the rather lavish Collector’s Edition when March 2013 rolls around you’ll bag yourself all this content:

• The ultimate GoW collectible – an 8? Kratos figurine
• Premium steelbook game case
• Double XP bonus for multiplayer and a DLC pass to unlock all future DLC for the game at no additional cost (more to follow on these soon)
• Mythological Heroes Multiplayer Pack (details below)
• Official game soundtrack (digital version)
• PS3 dynamic theme and an avatar pack

The Special Edition features the premium steekbook case, multiplayer double XP bonus, a digital version of the soundtrack, a dynamic PS3 theme and an avatar pack to boot.

Topping it all off, if you pre-order God of War: Ascension you’ll nab yourself the Mythological Heroes Multiplayer Pack that features four sets of armour from ancient Greece’s greatest mythological heroes.
