Namco Bandai Games have today announced that Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss will be arriving on PSN and XBLA as DLC today, with the console release of Prepare To Die Edition coming this week.

Artorias of the Abyss brings new maps, environments, boss characters, enemies, NPCs, weapons, armour and a whole load of new challenging content for those brave enough to face what Lordran has to offer them. The expansion also offers a rather dark story surrounding an evil force from the forests of Oolacile that’s expanding and engulfing the kingdom and its people, something only the strongest of players can defeat.

Artorias of the Abyss also features an online match-making feature that lets you take on other Dark Souls players across the globe, something that’s never been featured in either Dark Souls or Demon’s Souls.

If you pick up the Prepare to Die edition of Dark Souls upon its release later this week you’ll get all the content from Artorias of the Abyss and the original Dark Souls on one lovely disc.
