At gamescom 2012 Sony unveiled a new Supermassive Games PS Move horror title known as Until Dawn. It now seems that cult horror filmmakers Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick will be joining the team to ensure something truly horrifying comes out at the end.
Speaking on the EU PS Blog, Pete Samuels from Supermassive detailed exactly why they chose to work with two big shots from the classic horror scene.
It stemmed from wanting to create a game that really felt like a teen horror movie, and so needed the punchy dialogue along with the action and cast. Samuels knew that the duo – who have nearly 30 years of industry experience – just had to come aboard.
“Working on a game, rather than a film, was a completely new challenge,” said Fesseden. “However, the opportunity to take the teen horror genre and bring it to a truly immersive medium in which the player can really become a part of the story, was one I couldn’t turn down. I immediately thought to partner with Reznick, a long time video game enthusiast and frequent collaborator.”
Hopefully this’ll give it the character it sorely needed after its over the top gamescom 2012 reveal.
