Not quite the news title you expected, but the date for the Nintendo announcement that reveals the price for its upcoming console has been announced.

Set for September 13th at 3PM GMT for European gamers, Nintendo will have Satoru Shibata join the stage at its New York press event to reveal the time and release date for the European market.

US gamers can also tune into the same New York Press event and have Regi Fils-Amie dish out the details.

For EU gamers it should be remembered that Nintendo seem to never set the UK RRP – instead waiting for retailers to dole out the price – so we’ll only really get the release date of the device and have to wait for it to be properly announced.

That being said we could be looking anywhere between the £179.99 to the £299.99 range for the Wii U, which is a very expensive console.

The day before (which is tomorrow) also sees a big announcement from Apple regarding the iPhone 5 and possibly the iPad Mini.
