Square Enix’s second jump into the MMO universe of Final Fantasy didn’t fare all that well in comparison to it’s ageing – yet popular – time sponge, Final Fantasy XI. When Final Fantasy XIV release it was rediculed for it’s borked gameplay system and rushed quality causing Square to issue an apology, remove subscripions, switch up the developer team and rebuild the game practically from the ground up.
The fruits of their labour are on the horizon and Final Fantasy XIV Ver. 2.0 (or A Realm Reborn) will release early next year. To document the massive amount of changes made to the game the company have released a media breifing video to their Youtube channel. Just hit the CC button to have English subtitles grace the chests of the speakers.
