Yes, nothing says ‘fastest mammal in the world’ than a slow moving board game about buying and trading properties and avoiding bankruptcy – although such a model may be more befitting of Sega’s past financial state (we’re sorry Sega, it was too hard to resist).

Over on the Sonic Merchandise website, they are now taking pre-orders on the Sonic The Hedgehog Collector’s Edition of Monopoly, and expect stock to arrive on September 10th; however it is drastically limited.

“Buy, sell and trade your favorite zones, from Green Hill to Mad Gear, representing over 20 years of Sonic the Hedgehog video games,” reads the site’s description.

“Own stages like Apotos, Metal City and Sand Ruin, improve them with Workshops or Bases and collect more rings from other players so you can win it all!”

You’ll be able to play with 6 custom player pieces of Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Kuckles, Amy and Chao.
