It appears that Apple are actually developing an iPad mini with a window to launch it in October.
The news comes via a report on Bloomberg (via Eurogamer) who have heard from four separate sources that this iPad Mini will have a 7.85″ display.
This would place it in direct competition with Google’s Nexus 7 and makes it a larger screen than the Amazon Kindle Fire’s 6″ screen.
It seems that LG and AU Optronics are the ones who are going to provide the screens, and Foxconn will be providing the manufacture of the laminated coating.
With a press event scheduled for the 12th of September, it looks like we’ll have concrete proof that the device is coming in just under a fortnight.
Tech companies LG and AU Optronics have signed on to produce the device’s screens, while controversial manufacturer Foxconn is back providing the tablet’s laminated coating.
Rumours of the iPad mini have cropped up throughout the year. Production is allegedly now due to start.
Apple has a press event scheduled for 12th September – it likely won’t be long until hear the details officially.
