Following on from the immense PSN update that’ll bring PS One Classics to your Vita, as well as offering a plethora of additions to in game control, Sony have announced a system they’re dubbing as Cross Controller.
Cross Play will allow you to control and navigate your PS3 with your PS Vita, via remote play. It’s a niftiness doesn’t end there though as thanks to DLC from the wonderful guys at Media Molecule – who are hard at work on Tearaway – LittleBigPlanet 2 is getting exclusive game levels and support for the service.
This new DLC will allow you to play through a set of brand new levels that utilise the features of the PS Vita and a second screen to help your Sackboy or Sackgirl progress through the level – and if you don’t fancy playing a level, you can create them too.
Interestingly, this Cross Controller functionality seems to have beaten Nintendo at it’s own game, really showing off clearly what can be done through the power of a second screen, and the appeal and creativeness found in LBP. Touch, tilt, tap and utilise the extra view found with the PS Vita to make your Sackperson’s life just that little bit easier.
Some of the best bits of the Sony presentation came from seeing just how seamless the transition is between TV screen and handheld screen.
We for one can’t wait for this update to arrive.
