Witcher 2 developer CD Projekt Red seem to be preparing to bring multiplayer to their future games according to a new job listing spotted by VG24/7.
The job listing calls for an “experienced multiplayer programmer” to work in their “core team”. Their chief responsibilities revolve around preparing their game engine “for challenges of upcoming online component of our future games.”
Interestingly they are looking at implementing multiplayer to “existing systems” which could perhaps suggest that upcoming title Cyberpunk could be getting the multiplayer treatment.
Of course, as CD Projekt Red are working on a next-gen PC and console systems, as well as having two AAA+ titles on the go – one set for 2014 and another for 2015; two “A” games for 2012 and one “AA” game for 2013, this multiplayer component could be implemented in any number of games.
The ad does state that Xbox 360, PS3 and PC – as well as RPG development – is a “plus”, so we could see this component coming on current gen systems now.
