Nintendo have detailed ways for consumers to purchase digital download titles from the Nintendo eShop, and in doing os opened the way up for online retailers.
According to a report on Andriasang, Nintendo are bringing online retailers in on the digital sales of its online games – in Japan at least.
Select online stores will hold download codes that can be purchased, and then in turn be redeemed at the Nintendo eShop for download.
This is a similar method to what is seen on the high-street with stores offering redeemable cards for purchase.
Now you can choose whether you’ll download a game directly from the Nintendo eShop, from an online retailer, or from the high-street. Of course when a title is high profile enough it’ll also get a boxed retail release so that’s a fourth option!
The first title to get this multiple download treatment will be New Super Mario Bros. 2.
