Ringbow Nears Funded With 10 Days Left

July 12th, 2012

The device that looks set to change touch-screen gaming for the better has almost reached its Kickstarter goal with still 10 days on the clock.

The wearable controller is designed to limit the need to cover your touch-screen device with your fat fingers as you game, leaving more screen real-estate for you to gawk at just how far mobile visuals have come since the good old days of Snake on the indestructible Nokia.

With a target of $100,000 to shift this concept into production, it looks set to happen as funding already sits on a rather comfortable $98,000 with a full 10 days to go. That’s 98% of the funding for those incapable of doing simple percentages!

Full pricing of the multi-coloured devices haven’t been disclosed as of yet, but a backing of $35 would net you a Ringbow ASAP after production along with a pack of games to use it with. Sadly, those backing slots have been filled and the cheapest way to bag one of these sleek rings is to pledge $45 or more within the next few days.

The Ringbow is a pretty revolutionary peice of kit, and it’s great to see the Kickstarter community helping to fund another great cause. Hopefully soon we’ll be seeing these things popping up on buses and trains (though probably down the sides of seats) as people start to really embrace mobile gaming for it’s enhanced possibilities with the Ringbow.

Go and pledge now!

Just checked, and they’ve got 1,908 backers and they completely funded it!

I’m curious as to what kind of customization is available thru the API?

I guess we’ll have to wait and see! They promise that it can run in a Windows PC environment but with limited functionality. I’m sure the talented PC community can do some wonderful things with it once it releases.
