Everybody gets sweaty gamer hands from holding a controller or handheld for far too long, but how about hot hands from being fried?
Reports from Andriasang show that the Japanese government have set out on an investigation to claims of Sony’s newest handheld, the PlayStation Vita, overheating.
Sony does admit that 31 reports of overheating Vita units have been filed since its launch in December until June this year, however those claims all regarded the unit being charged.
Twenty-three of these claims were in Japan and eight of them from the UK, US and Australia. Every case had the same issue too – the connection between the charging lead and the unit.
Sony don’t believe the problem is much of an issue as “the problem is with people having liquids or other objects inserted in the connection,” therefore they will not be issuing a recall.
