The 8-bit Summer kicks of with the release of The Legend of Zelda. The original quest to free the Princess and save Hyrule was the gateway to many staple game features seen in titles to this day.

NES Open Golf – 3DS eShop

It may have only been a few months ago that Mario returned to the 3DS in Open Tennis, but 8-bit fans can go back the the past with one of Mario’s first breaks from important plumber/hero duty in NES Open Tournament Golf. Challenge other players in Stroke, Match and Tournament modes.

The only demo of the week comes in the form of Heroes of Ruin. With the ability to link up for 4-player local or worldwide co-op in the demo alone, it should easily warrant a download for any action-rpg fan.

Family Tennis 3D - 3DS eShop

Now it’s time for the big-eyed Japanese anime styled sports game. Think Pangya Golf and you’ll be on the right track. Family Tennis 3D comes to the 3DS eShop this week with unlockable gallery items and minigames to pass the time after you champion the Tournament mode.

Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword - 3DS eShop

As a special weekend bonus, Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword goes on sale as the “Game of the Weekend”. For a limited time only, you can nab this original sword-fighting game for $4.99.
