DoA 5 Shows off Tag Team

July 19th, 2012

With Dead or Alive 5 fast approaching, Tecmo Koei have today released a slew of new screens and a vignette trailer for a couple of features improved for this iteration of the franchise – as well as announcing the return of Tina and Jann Lee.

Tina is still the daughter of fellow character Bass, and so her moves are solid and strong wrestling moves of leg and arm holds. It seems this time though she has gone against her fathers wishes to become a wrestler and has joined the Dead or Alive Tournaments to become the superstar she feels she should be.

Jann Lee on the other hand is a self-taught Jeet Kune Do master who thrives off the thrill of the fight. His goal is to become the greatest fighter of all time, and so to accomplish this he joins the Dead or Alive Tournaments – but also has to avoid the infatuated Lei Fang whom he rescued from a street gang when she was just a little girl.

Now you know some background on the fighters, that’ll mean watching a video of them tag team up and beat the hell out of each other means so much more.

Jann Lee pairs up with the girl he’s apparently avoiding  - Lei Fang – and faces off against Mariposa and ‘Mr. Strong’ in the fan favourite wrestling stage named Fighting Entertainment. An electrified ring complete with cheering and jeering fans.

It also seems that the already impressive Dead or Alive training mode has seen a revamp in DoA 5, now allowing you to control more features than in any previous DoA game. You can adjust the opponent’s AI behaviour, meaning you can set input recording, recovery time etc.

There are also optional missions in Story Mode to ease players into the basics and onto the more advanced fighting techniques – which could be handy now you have the more in depth scenery damage too.
