It appears that Skyrim expansion Dawnguard wont be hitting PS3 in July as the required update wont arrive for “weeks”.
Now that Microsoft’s 30-day exclusivity deal with Bethesda over the Dawnguard DLC is through, many expected the expansion to hit the PS Store ASAP, however that doesn’t appear to be the case.
To play Dawnguard first Skyrim needs to be prepared, and that requires a patch – patch 1.7 to be precise.
Bethesda have confirmed on Twitter – spotted by Now Gamer – that this much needed patch wont be arriving on the PS3 just yet, stating that an “update should be arriving in the coming weeks.”
PC players are also now waiting on word of Dawnguard‘s release, however the 1.7 patch is in beta stages on Steam so it will probably roll out sooner than on PS3.

what a joke!
Can’t believe they would have the nerve. They’re forcing us to wait weeks for a patch that nobody even needs.
