Even though the Tomb Raider reboot is nine months away from seeing the light of day, it seems that Crystal Dynamics already have a plan for Lara and her journey.
Speaking to VideoGamer, Crystal Dynamics’ global brand manager Karl Stewart said “”I have to be careful because I know exactly where she’s going.”
“You have to look at the future, you have to look at where… It’s not just one game.
“At the end of this game we want her to be that strong female character that is willing to go and seek out mysteries and seek out tombs. She’s going to be going to plenty of tombs in this game, but we’re going to have somebody who wants to go on that adventure, who wants to be the person that she now is. That’s the goal.”
Even though it seems that Lara’s future has been planned out past the first game, Stewart wouldn’t give any more information away, stating that he’ll “have the game director of the next game going ‘what the fuck are you saying!?’”
It makes an awful lot of sense for Crystal Dynamics to have planned out a future for the franchise, after all it’s an awful lot of effort to put into a single reboot of a game, and on the whole the Tomb Raider franchise has been incredibly successful.
Tomb Raider launches on the 5th March 2013.
