TT Games are well known for creating the Lego series of game tie-ins, be it Lego Batman, Lego Indiana Jones, and most popular of all Lego Star Wars and Lego Harry Potter, and it seems that with their Lego Batman sequel they’ve made some rather interesting changes.
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will be an open sandbox style game with an entire city for you to explore at your liesure. A brand new trailer (shown below) details that you can explore a whopping 500 square miles of Gotham City, all of which is lovingly re-created in those brightly coloured plastic pieces. Whilst it isn’t clear if the city is open from the get go or if it unlocks as you progress, it’s a different approach to the Lego game design of old and is seriously an interesting route to take.
We also have a smattering of artwork for the Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes cast for you to view in the gallery below.
Lego Batman 2 releases on June 22nd for all formats.
