The largest roster of Tekken characters in the history of the franchise are set to team up against one another in just a few months time. The sequel to the classic Playstation 2 title, Tekken Tag Tournament, is due to release this coming September on both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
Namco Bandai have just dropped the news along with some well needed facts surrounding the game’s features. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will not only features tag-team combat, but also 1-on-1 brawls and even the ability to set a tag-team against a single lone fighter. The ‘Fight Lab’ feature will allow users to create and customize their own character.
The team have been pouring their heart and souls into the title for the sake of nostalgia. Project Director, Katsuhiro Harada, had this to say:
“TEKKEN Tag Tournament is one of the most beloved entries in the TEKKEN series – not just among fans but also for myself and the entire development team, so crafting the sequel has been a labour of love for everyone here,” said Katsuhiro Harada, TEKKEN Project Director at NAMCO BANDAI GAMES Inc. “To truly make this game stand up to the high benchmark set by the original, we have injected some exciting features and modes that will revolutionize the online fighting game community and allow new players to enjoy and master the game – so there will be something for everyone.”
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will feature over 50 characters with improved move pools and the usual features to allow increased accessibility to the masses when it launches in September.
