Prison Architect due for alpha release later this year

Creative director Chris Delay, and managing director Mark Morris of Introversion, spoke about their upcoming jail design-em-up Prison Architect at A Bit Of Alright, last week’s game design event in Battersea, London.

When pressed on a release date, Delay said they may release an alpha “maybe half way through/two thirds through of this year, so maybe September time,” which will give players the opportunity to pay for a pre-order, in a similar vein to the release of Minecraft. “We’ll do regular updates, and every three or four weeks they’ll get an update”.

I know it’s not the biggest game ever, but games like these seem to still get me excited.

Just saw the website for this game a couple of days ago. Anyone have a source for more information? Concept or anything about the game? Looks interesting at least!
