Why anybody thought this was anything more than remaster is beyond us, but anyway it’s now official knowledge that Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto has said the PS3 and PS Vita re-release of Final Fantasy X is in fact a “high-definition remaster” and not an entirely remade version of the PS2 hit.
Confusion arose from Square-Enix referring to the project as a ‘remake’ during the Tokyo Game Show last year, but now thanks to Hashimoto’s announcement at the Taipei Game Show the confusion has been cleared up.
“The game is being developed like a high-definition remaster, but the visuals will look much better compared to the original,” he explained.
Although, as we said, why anybody thought they would be remaking it from scratch is truly deluded, it’s most likely that the visual upgrade we will see will be on par with the same improvements met via other games that have been HD-ified.
