It’s been sometime since we had a few big releases in a week. This week seems to really be the start of the 2012 gaming year, with big games such as Soul Calibur V, Neverdead, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and more.
Soul Calibur V (Ps3, Xbox 360)
This game has been eagerly anticipated by fans of the series since it’s release. Set to take place 17 years after the events of Soul Calibur IV, The main protagonist is Patroklos, the son of Soul series veteran Sophita . This entry into the series is set to feature 30 characters, including Ezio from Assassins Creed as a guest character. The game will also character creation modes, online gameplay, and plenty more which should excite fans of the series.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 (Ps3, Xbox 360)
Probably the biggest game of the week for most, Final Fantasy XIII-2 is the sequel the Final Fantasy 13 which was criticized by man for taking away many things that made Final Fantasy great, despite the criticsm the game still reviewed well, and sold a lot. In Final Fantasy XIII-2, Square Einx tried to fix the mistakes from the first game. One of the main improvements is you can now free roam around environments, which was one of the huge complaints about Final Fantasy 13. The story of the game follows Lightnings sister Serah, and a time traveller known as Noel, who comes back in time to try and change the future. These two will be the main characters of the game, but Lightning will also be in it, and playable at times.
NeverDead (PS3, Xbox 360)
NeverDead takes place during the waking hours of peace and calm, in which the world is under the threat of a demonic plague. The protagonist is an immortal and will be able to survive severe injuries. Over time, the player will lose body parts and will have to collect the removed limbs by rolling into them. Published by Konami, and developed by Rebellion Developments, this game is looking quite good, so you should consider giving it a go.
Resident Evil Revelations (3DS) Only available in Europe this week
