Namco Bandai do like to spoil us Soul Calibur fans and this time they have really gone and spoilt us rotten. This week we have a whole host of amazing screenshots and artworks for the 4 newly announced characters for their upcoming Soul Calibur V release.

In addition to the three previously announced characters, Yoshimitsu and Cervantes will be returning, alongside two new characters Xiba and Aeon.

Yoshimitsu looks as glorious as ever, sporting his Prince of Thieves look from the series past, whilst Cervantes is possibly looking the most fresh faced he has ever looked! Xiba seems to be taking on the role of Kilik style stick annoyance, but also sporting a little tail, and Aeon appears to be filling the boots of the incredible Lizardman from series past. Aeon does however have one immediate difference to Lizardman of yore, he’s got wings (and has a name).

Aeon was once a Spartan until he was unexpectedly turned into a Lizardman, now it seems that memories of his family have all but washed away and he can no longer distinguish them from his prey. Perhaps that means another of his family members is unwittingly involved in this tale of souls and swords?

Xiba seems to sport a much more traditional backstory; having grown up on Zhen Hang Mountain where the villages loved him, he now journeys out with Maxi, Leixia, and Natsu in search of the sword.

The screenshots also show some lovely scenes of Mitsurugi, Maxi, Phyrra, Natsu, Astaroth  and Voldo as well as some returning stages from the days of Soul Calibur and Soul Calibur II. All in all this is shaping up to be one gorgeous adventure.

Soul Calibur V will release in early 2012
