Crysis 2 PS3 Demo Going Offline

March 18th, 2011

EA has just announced that it will be pulling the plug on the currently live Crysis 2 demo on PSN:

“Thank you for your interest in the PlayStation 3 version of the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo. Though many gamers have had a great experience playing the demo, we are aware that others have been experiencing server connection delays. We’ve identified the root cause and have decided to close the PS3 demo in the next 24 hours to ensure all issues are resolved when the game launches next week. Our priority is to ensure that the final product is flawless at launch.”

This is so sad. It was just released. Didn’t even get a chance to play!

I loved the time I had with it, the gameplay felt pretty awesome and the suit changes everything. So fun…

Seems to me that the best way to patch all of the problems would be to let us keep playing it — then EA will have the feedback it needs. Now I will definetely wait on the reviews.

It better go offline if they don’t want massive preorder cancellation

I know a lot of people had issues with the framerate and visuals, but I never did. I won’t say the problem doesn’t exist, but I had a really good experience with it while it lasted.

The reason for demos is to find problems that they need to get fixed before the game releases i mean look at black ops shitty server connection also MW2 what did it have problems with on the first day of release the party system and not being able to get into games. At least crytek released this demo and discovered the problem now instead of getting the game and getting frustrated when the game launches, i absolutely love the game best game i have ever played thus far, all in all this demo was a success because they discovered a problem within the server and can now be patched before release, RELAX guys.

Arent you suppose to keep the beta up to see if the problem is getting fixed? how would they know if the connection issues are address accordingly if they dont have the beta to see if it works or not?

If they just said we are taking it down because people are complaining about the ps3 version then i would say okay..

I think the reason the PS3 demo has been pulled is due to the fact that there has been alot of bad publicity so far on other sites with regards to the games visuals and framerate etc in comparison to the 360′s version. So with only a week till launch why risk the chance of fueling the fire even more and loosing sales as a result.

crysis 2 was ment to be an xbox 360 exclusive title lol ps3 is just getting rejects dnt know why you havnt figured it out, i put my money on it that the dlc will come to xbox live then to ps3 a month later. just like black ops, i will laugh at any ps3 player who is still playing black-ops cod, concentrate on killzone suckerssssssssssssss

killzone is better than any FPS the 360 has you queer little fanboy

That is completely subjective to a persons opinion. I personally disagree but like I just said, it’s all opinionated. Try not to forget that. :)

Thank god someone else has common sense.

@thatspecialsum1 – read what Joe Tyler said, and please take it to heart. That’s great that YOU think Killzone is better than any FPS the 360 has, but…yeah ha, as Joe Tyler stated, that’s clearly your opinion. Whcih your entitled too. As an owner of both consoles I never really understand this “Ah no way ‘x’ is much better ‘y’. BA!” It’s humorous in some fashion, but rather sad.

It seems the PS3 owners cannot help but include profanity or call someone something while ‘defending’ (is that even the right word?) some of their titles.

Just realize that when you have to ad comments like “queer little fanboy,” it makes you look desperate. And you don’t want to look desperate. So just breathe, and chill.

ur stupid…. crysis began in PC why the hell would it become a 360 exclusive
and the only reason black ops gets DLC’s first on 360 is because they signed a contract with Microsoft…Why? for $$$$

The demo was always offline for me, I never did manage to get into a game.

Hopefully Crytek will learn from this and let the tech do the talking in the future rather than the marketing big mouths talking it up.

dont have to wait for the reviews some are already out,and they all giving 8 or 9 out of 10 for the ps3, they must all be on drugs or somthing cause from the demo i played its not more than a weak 5/10, to much problems on the mp demo and i heard from a critic that the SP first 5hours are boring, so ill suggest to try it before buying it.
