Yet Another Game To Add To Your List?
Yesterday EA released a new trailer for Medal of Honor, their upcoming first-person-sure-to-cause-controversy-frag-filled-romp through the war in Afghanistan. Those of you who have been living in a cave on Mars for the last several months, or those who dived into Modern Warfare 2 last November and never came back up(both have much the same effect) may be unaware of this game so lets run through what we know. Medal of Honor is a reboot of the classic series of the same name. This time though instead of World War II players will step into the stylish and functional combat boots of soldiers fighting in modern day Afghanistan. The game is being developed by two separate companies, EA Los Angeles are handling the single player while DICE(the super-swedes behind the Battlefield series) are crafting the multiplayer. There is a heavy emphasis on realism and to this end EA have been speaking to consultants from the US military to ensure their facts are straight. The game’s campaign will consist of tasks and objectives similar to the kind of jobs soldiers in Afghanistan are expected to carry out, jobs such as raiding terrorist hideouts and rescuing hostages. Additionally it seems the single player will feature a contrast of spec ops/standard combat much the same as Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare series as players control both “Tier 1 Operators” and regular soldiers. The game isn’t released until fall this year but if this trailer is anything to go by it may be one to start counting down to.
