Microsoft is off to a great start this year coming off the high sales of Modern Warfare 2 on the platform combined with the amazing sales of the first week of Mass Effect 2. The question is can Microsoft keep this momentum going through the coming months, Final Fantasy XIII looks superior on the PS3 due to the fact that the Xbox version is multiple discs. You got heavy competition in March from God Of War 3, Quantum Theory, continuing Heavy Rain and MAG sales. What could Microsoft have up their sleeves?
Note: None of this is confirmed and should be taken as rumors unless otherwise stated. Also it’s in no particular order.
10.) Alan Wake- Survival horror game based around lighting and a story set to have players on the edge of their seats. The game takes a few pages from some of the best survival horror games and wraps them all into one for one graphically stunning game that is sure to turn some heads this year.
9.) Monster Hunter Frontier- Microsoft’s obvious attempt to cut into the Japan market as much as it can with this title, prior only available on PC it will give fans of the series much to look forward to, with new monsters, new hunter ranks, new dedicated community and the ability to purchase armor, items, weapons and houses will give players a lot to look forward to.
8.) Halo Reach- This game is a hit since it was announced. Based on a novel written just before the Halo series became popular (right before Halo 2 came out) it’s a prequel to the other games in the series and tells a lot of backstory and has a lot of things to keep Halo fans glued to their controllers.
7.) Fable 3- The mystery is what keeps this game hyped. The unawareness of what the developers at Lionhead have up their sleeves. Taking place years after the second game the player finds themselves King and ruling the empire. Very little is known after that, but I’m pretty sure we will see more either AT or before E3.
6.) Gears 3 Announcement- Many people expect their to be a Gears related announcement at E3. Maybe sooner, Cliffy B is hyping up some sort of announcement, sure Gears 3 would be a great announcement but…a MEGATON?! C’mon, Shadow Complex 2 would be a better one. After the way the last one ended, I’d question the purchase and have to see the final product.
5.) Splinter Cell: Conviction- The game looks amazing and everyone expects great things lets just hope it delivers. The co-op is said to be great and the new direction in the splinter cell franchise giving you the choice to go silent or go in guns blazing like Rambo add more depth to the series than ever.
4.) Natal Games- Expect some big name titles and a lot of third party support for Natal to be announced at E3, I wouldn’t rule out showing of next Rock Band 3 or Gears 3 to show off some Natal action. It would be something.
3.) Exclusive DLC- They have a history of nabbing exclusive DLC so why not continue it? E3 will more than likely announce ONE timed exclusive DLC. My bet is the next COD announcement along side a DLC announcement. If this is true, remember who called this one. Also, feel free to kind of giggle a little.
2.) Left 4 Dead 3- Worse stuff has happened. The backlash from the last announcement would prolly not want them to do the year cycle thing again, so instead expect MAYBE this is a huge maybe by the way. Half-Life Episode 3 or Portal 2. That would be one great exclusive, besides it would explain what valve has been doing besides working on some DLC that will more than likely be announced and released between now and E3.
1.) Mass Effect 3- If they announce this game at E3, Microsoft may actually steal the show unless Sony unleashes a megaton. It’s highly likely, Bioware is working on a PS3 game, and they said that Mass Effect Trilogy will finish its life on Xbox 360. So it’s highly possible that they were working on them simultaneously and we never knew about it.
There’s my thoughts and predictions on 2010 for Microsoft, stay tuned to TheGamersHub for my final entry in this series with Nintendo In 2010. Have a great weekend and discuss this on the forums and here in the comments. Peace.

Quantum theory is also coming out for xbox 360 aswell

LOL! No offense but…
With Halo: Reach coming out this year it’s HIGHLY unlikely that Gears of War will as well.
Half Life is not likely to be exclusive. EA ported the orange box to the PS3 and if they can do that again there’s no way it will be exclusive.
Everyone knows there’s going to be a Mass Effect 3 because it will be a trilogy. The only reason people will get excited is if it’s announced for release this year. So that point is irrelevant.
what the heck!?how ff13 looks superior on ps3?because of br?!superior sound yes.it might look better on ps3,only because it was meant to be a ps3 game….
Again exclusives on ps3 never reaches the high level sales numbers when compared with 360s excl.
anyway 2010 is looking fantastic for both consoles.
