Halo ODST
The Halo series has always demonstrated something of a split personality. On one hand, you have the headline-grabbing multi-player portion, with its teams of armoured warriors running, shooting, punching, ; on the other, you have the campaign, a galaxy-spanning tale starring Budgie’s terse superhero, Master Chief. You can argue all you like about which is more important — more people play the campaign, though the multiplayer-loving minority likely win out in terms of sheer man-hours — but the simple fact is that these two aspects of the Halo experience have long been very different creatures designed for very different audiences. Or at least, that was the case before Halo 3: ODST. ODST has its share of flaws, but it’s a noteworthy creation simply for the way in which it unites the two different faces of the franchise — campaign and multiplayer — into something that should appeal to both sets of fans. ODST combines some very cool gaming ideas such as free roam and the 4 player Co-Op that seems to be becoming ever more popular in today’s online gaming world. The only downsides to this game is the short story mode. They say it can take up to 6 hours to complete it.
Firefight and Campaign should of had a Search system but other than that the Campaign is well worth it id say 12hours play on Legendary. Firefight is about 10hours play (if getting achievements for each level, which you will want) and a extra 5hours of playing firefight after getting them all before getting bored. Then multiplayer disk is just amazing 30-50hours playing matchmaking before even thinking about being bored and after that you got about 10-20hours of customers (if you have friends) before finally putting the game in your shelves. That’s about 62hours minimum play is your are a Hardcore Gamer. Basically what I am saying is that its Worth buying it began as an idea for a simple expansion to Halo 3. It would be just a few hours long and help tide the fans over until Halo Reach which is ready in summer 2010.
Great game Budgie’s are always making halo better and better but instead of playing as a Spartan you play as an ODST which gives the whole game an interesting twist. If your looking for gun and run game with lots of random explosions and bullets flying everywhere but more so at you. Then this is a game for you. Halo ODST combines some very cool gaming ideas such as free roam and the 4 player Co-Op that seems to be becoming ever more popular in today’s online gaming world. The only downsides to this game is the short story mode. They say it can take up to 6 hours to complete it.

The graphics are stunning its like your seeing into the future itself. The sound effects provide huge explosions, characters talking, gun shots and everything else that’s chaotic. The have got the sound effects spot on as it sound like someone has just bombed your garden! Thankfully that hasn’t happened (touch wood). So in an all over summary of the graphics and sounds they are genuinely superb.
You play Firefight after you have finished the campaign it adds a couple more hours onto your HALO ODST experience. Not to mention the extra achievements you’ll be getting. Firefight is basically where hordes of enemies come and you’ve got to take each and everyone down. There’s different levels and scenarios a long the way. if you enjoy the thrill of a lone group of human partners staving off dozens of bloodthirsty enemies, Firefight should be right up your alley. Firefight mode is played in sets. Each set is divided into three rounds, while each round is divided into five waves of enemies. Each time you progress it gets harder and harder as you might of expected. You start off killing the likes of Grunts and jackals and as you progress ending up fighting Brute Chieftain. If you thought dealing with one Chieftain was a pain, try dealing with a whole pack!.
The only negatives are I like the loss of shields and the return of health bar in Halo. But I worry the game will feel like Call of Duty one did. Running around looking for health packs etc. It takes away from the fast paced game play. I felt the slow recharging shields of Halo 1 made you less invincible and more fair in terms of game play. I don’t want to be unkillable, but I don’t want to spend the game just worrying about my health bar.
This game is very good creation by Bungie which is why im rating this game add on an 8.7.
